Some love stories come full circle.

For Ashley and her husband, it all began with a first date at the cinema when they were just 16 years old, watching Toy Story 3. Sixteen years later, as they prepare to welcome their first baby, they realise they would soon be returning to the cinema together to watch Toy Story 5. A fitting milestone in a love story that has grown alongside them.

In between those two films came thirteen wonderful years together, a proposal overlooking the beautiful Filey Brigg in North Yorkshire, and finally an unforgettable Spring wedding at Gorse Hill Hotel.

Finding “The One”

Boo Bridal in Hampshire, was the first boutique Ashley visited, and, as it turned out, the only one she needed.

After trying on a selection of silhouettes, the choice came down to just two gowns. Trusting her instincts, Ashley chose the dress that immediately felt right for her.

“I am very good at making decisions quickly and sticking with my first gut feeling. Once I tried the dress on - I just knew!”

A calm start to the perfect day.

One of the greatest privileges of our job, is occasionally being invited to share a small part of our brides’ wedding morning.

Poppy and I joined Ashley as she got ready, helping her into her dress, those final finishing touches, calming pre-ceremony nerves, and even carrying flowers and carefully managing her train as the bridal party made their way to the ceremony.

Seeing Ashley walk down the aisle, looking completely herself was a very special moment for us.

The day itself was beautiful. The weather was glorious, considering it was April. There were lawn games, which the guests loved and made for some great photo opportunities. The venue was chosen because the couple wanted somewhere that didn’t feel too spread out. They had the Garden Suite all to themselves with a lovely seating area outside to cool off after dancing.

The Details

On a day that already had Ashley beaming with pride, a few elements really stood out for her.

“Our cake and flowers were probably the most spectacular parts of our day, they were beautiful and far exceeded the expectations I had from my Pinterest board”.

Happily Ever After…

One year after saying “I do”, Ashley and her new husband celebrated their first anniversary before preparing to welcome their baby boy later this year.

And before life gets even busier ….

There is one date already in the diary.

Emma says:

“Watching Ashley walk down the aisle was incredibly special. We first met her as a bride-to-be searching for her dream dress, and to be with her on the morning of her wedding felt like a real privilege. Receiving these photos and having her tell us about her special day, reminds us exactly why we love what we do.”
