From a breathtaking proposal in St Lucia to a beautiful summer wedding at Lainston House, Holly and Craig's wedding was the perfect blend of family, tradition and just a touch of Disney magic.

Like many modern love stories, theirs began online.

"We met in true modern style on Hinge," Holly laughs. "We actually bonded over our shared love of Disney, which is what first got us talking."

That shared love would become a subtle thread woven throughout their relationship and, eventually, their wedding day.

A Caribbean Proposal

The proposal came during the couple's annual family holiday to St Lucia.

"We were on the balcony of our villa overlooking the sea when Craig proposed. It was absolutely stunning."

Although Holly admits she had a small suspicion that it might happen on that particular holiday.

"I may have even told him that if he was going to propose, that would be the perfect time!"

Fortunately, Craig took the hint.

The newly engaged couple celebrated in style with family and friends, enjoying a pool party filled with food, drinks and excitement as they shared their happy news.

Creating Their Dream Wedding

When it came to choosing a venue, the decision was surprisingly easy.

Lainston House had always held a special place in Holly's heart.

"I'd actually worked there a few times waitressing at weddings and always thought it would be such a beautiful place to get married."

The vision for the day was clear: classic Disney inspiration, wrapped in timeless elegance.

Rather than creating a themed wedding, Holly and Craig chose subtle nods to the stories they love, while keeping family, conversation and celebration firmly at the heart of the day.

The couple married in the village church near Holly's parents' home, adding another deeply personal element to their celebration.

And as for the weather?

"We were incredibly lucky. It was absolutely gorgeous — if not a little too sunny!"

The sunshine was perhaps helped along by one unusual family tradition.

"My sister and I buried a sausage the day before for good luck... and clearly it worked!"

Finding The Dress

Ask Holly about her favourite part of wedding planning and her answer comes without hesitation.

"Dress shopping, without a doubt."

Although she visited several bridal boutiques during her search, she admits that too many appointments can quickly become overwhelming.

"I went to six or seven shops and ended up feeling a bit overwhelmed. If I could give one piece of advice to future brides, it would be to trust your instincts and not visit too many boutiques."

When Holly visited Boo Bridal, everything felt a little easier.

"My very first appointment stands out. Emma and the team were so welcoming and had already pulled dresses I'd spotted online before I even arrived."

Travelling a considerable distance for appointments could easily have made the process stressful, but Holly found the opposite.

"They just understood what I was looking for — how I wanted to feel, what I liked and didn't like. They were so accommodating and made the whole experience feel relaxed and exciting."

The result?

"My dress was everything I'd dreamed of."

In fact, the experience left such an impression that Holly still wishes she could relive it.

"Thank you to Emma and the team for making it such a fun experience. I genuinely wish I could do it all over again."

A Day Filled With Love, Laughter and Dancing

The wedding day itself passed exactly as so many brides say it does: in a beautiful blur.

Despite a minor hiccup when the original wedding car broke down and a replacement had to be arranged at short notice, Holly remained blissfully unaware.

"I was so wrapped up in everything that I didn't even notice at the time. My dad was fully prepared to drive me himself if needed!"

The day was captured beautifully by photographer Hannah Sharpe, while guests enjoyed a stunning Disney-inspired cake, live music from Easy Tigers, and even Disney classics performed by a saxophonist during the drinks reception.

But when asked about her most memorable moment, Holly's answer isn't the ceremony or the speeches.

It's the dancing.

"Seeing my grandparents dancing and especially my dad, who never normally dances, on the dancefloor for so long was so special."

Family played an important role throughout the entire celebration.

Her bridesmaids were by her side every step of the way, while her sister surprised everyone with a heartfelt speech that included a song she'd secretly written to You've Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story.

"We had absolutely no idea she was going to do it."

And then there was Holly's mum.

"She was incredible throughout the entire process. She's the ultimate planner, kept everything running smoothly, and still somehow managed to spend plenty of time on the dancefloor too."

Holly's Advice For Future Brides

Having experienced it all herself, Holly's advice to newly engaged couples is simple:

Take moments to soak it all in.
"The day goes so quickly. Make sure you pause and spend time together as husband and wife."

Put your phone away.
"I didn't look at mine once on the morning of the wedding and it helped me stay calm, present and completely stress-free."

Trust yourself.
"Try not to visit too many dress shops. Give yourself time between appointments and trust your instincts."

Happily Ever After

And married life?

"Honestly, not much has changed — apart from still getting used to calling each other husband and wife!"

For Holly and Craig, life continues much as before: enjoying married life, spending time together and, of course, making plenty more Disney memories.

After all, every great love story deserves a happily ever after.

A final thought from Emma

One of the greatest joys of this job is watching a bride arrive for her first appointment as someone's fiancée and then, what feels like moments later, seeing photographs of her as someone's wife.
