Amber and Rob’s perfect day.
As her wedding anniversary was drawing closer, we asked Amber if she wanted to re-live the day and share some of her most magical moments with us. I am delighted to say that she was only too happy to do so. Settle down and hear all about how Amber, Rob and their families celebrated their special day!
“My husband Rob and I are a true Tinder success story! While our first meeting was casual, the proposal was pure romance — it happened on a crisp winter’s day during one of my favourite dog walks, surrounded by frosty trees. It was absolutely magical.
We had one non-negotiable for our wedding: a late curfew! If you’ve ever been to an Irish wedding, you’ll understand why midnight just doesn’t cut it. That requirement narrowed down our venue search quite a bit. A friend recommended a venue, and although their sister location didn’t quite fit, discovering they had another site that ticked every box was a game-changer — we were instantly sold.
Connecting with our suppliers was really important to us. We wanted to feel a genuine bond before making any decisions. That’s exactly why we chose Keri Lovell as our photographer — we knew we’d have a laugh with him, and he captured all the spontaneous, natural moments beautifully.
I was also conscious about sustainability and didn’t want our décor to end up in landfill. That’s why I was so thrilled to find @ownyourthrone. They were incredible from start to finish, providing dried florals, backdrops, and all our table décor. The Wedding Breakfast looked stunning, and I can’t recommend Claire enough.
Aside from the ceremony, the speeches were the highlight of the day for me. Each one was heartfelt and hilarious — full of love and the craic! And also just welcoming all of our guests, many of whom had travelled from Ireland to be with us over the weekend.
Believe it or not, I only visited one bridal shop! Emma and her team made the experience so special, guiding me through the process until I found the dress. On the day, everyone said it was “so me” — and I couldn’t agree more.
If I could give one piece of advice for any bride is extend your wedding day as much as possible! We welcomed people at a local pub near our venue the evening before and also had a pub for the day after (day 2 is integral to an Irish wedding). These extra add-ons were minimal extra costs, but meant we could make sure we spoke and spent time with everyone and the day didn't feel like it "flew in" as many people often say it does. “
